"If Six was Nine"
A sculptural installation of kinetic and stationary guitars by the artist Trimpin, featured in the Experience Music Project, Seattle.
Views of installation.  My tasks involved designing the structure and devising a method to support approximately 700 guitars in this space.  There are three clusters of guitars among these which are custom made by Trimpin to play his compositions.
The frame consists of steel tubing around a central post.  This permitted the sculpture to be assembled at the site.  Custom brackets secure the guitars to this tubing.
A view from the upper level.
The computer model I created to design this provided accurate cut lengths for fabrication.
